I was SO thrilled to work with Nina and Mike on artwork for their backyard wedding this September in Bedford, New York.
The two doctors married at Saint Patrick’s church in a small safety conscious ceremony, followed by an intimate celebration at the bride’s family farmhouse, which dates back to 1757 (swoon).
During the design process, Nina and I discussed her vision for the wedding. She was most excited to celebrate with friends and family at her childhood home – a working farm in Bedford, New York. She wanted to highlight the natural beauty of the property with minimalistic decor. A few rustic and natural elements, tables under the stars, and of course, an abundance of flowers. Armed with Nina and Mike’s wedding mood board, created with Bedford-based planner La Maison Fete, I painted a series of botanicals for their wedding suite.
For the invitations, we went with hand-painted anemones and cascading ivy to frame the announcement – printed on Cranes Lettra paper with letterpressed text in navy blue (the same color the bridal party would be wearing).
I am so grateful to have worked with Nina and Mike and their team of incredible vendors. Enjoy a behind-the-scenes look from photographer James Anderson….
After working on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic, the two doctors decided to scale down their original wedding plans – opting for a small, socially-distant ceremony & outdoor reception that adhered to safety protocols.
Luckily for Nina and Mike, the beauty and sentiment behind their wedding location provided the perfect backdrop for a safe and spread out celebration.
